Kersey Creek Parent Teacher Association (PTA) is a nonprofit
organization run by volunteers to provide valuable support,
services, and programs to the KCES community.
The primary goal of the PTA is to strengthen our family
units, our schools and our communities through parent/family involvement.
The KCES PTA recognizes parents as the first educators in the home and works to promote parents as partners in the school. PTA also gives families the tools needed to create an environment at home that supports the positive changes happening at school. Kersey Creek’s PTA is a local unit of the National PTA & Virginia PTA.

There are things that are school needs but are not covered
by any local, state, or government funding. Our PTA has 3 major areas of
investment: Curriculum enhancements,
Programs, and Donations/Hospitality.
Curriculum Enhancements
Year after year, the PTA has made its largest contributions in curriculum enhancements, which include tools and materials needed to support and innovate how things work and are taught at school.Here are a few things the KCES PTA will support this year:
- $1,500 for the Accelerated Reading Programs
- Funding for the Clinic, Art, Music, Guidance, Reading, Special Education & Teacher supplies
- $2,300 towards new Library Chairs
- Funding for Fall Teacher Grants
Programs
The PTA is proud of our many wonderful programs. And we will continue to coordinate & fund the following in the upcoming school year.- Reflections
- One School One Book - where every family received a copy of the same book that is intended to be read together at home with parents. Activities are planned to celebrate reading the book.
- Theatre IV performances are brought to the school to expose all students to high quality cultural arts & performances.
- Reading Olympics
- Science Fair
Donations & Hospitality
The KCES PTA will continue to fund:- Two - $500 scholarships for graduating Hanover students that are KCES alumni.
- $100 towards Hanover PTA Scholarships
- HEF Bowl-a-Thon
